Kimberly Cowgill

I am a first generation graduate of the University of Central Florida (UCF). My certification includes a degree and specialization in Exceptional Student Education (ESE) for students with disabilities. I have twenty-five years experience in teaching, training, and advocating in the public and private sectors.

I provide Professional Development to establish continuing education in the areas of positive behavioral interventions, classroom management, and courageous parent conversations as individuals and teams navigate early preventive and proactive resources as they transition to neighboring grade schools.

My journey has encompassed traveling up the northeast coast to mentor inner city elementary school teachers with the necessary tools to support academic, independent and social skills in disadvantaged schools. Moreover, I have managed a territory of schools in the 9th largest district in the nation to monitor adherence of support services and accommodations with Individualized Education (IEP) and Section 504 Plans. During that time, I developed curriculum and provided training sessions to scaffold Staffing Specialists, ESE Teachers and Support Services Providers such as SLP, OT and PT across the district.

To that end, one of my greatest accomplishments has been raising my daughter and supporting her as she pursues a career in Communicative Disorders at UCF.  Lastly, Molly and Laja are my family rescue dogs that provide a lot of laughter and love in our home every day!
